Wanted to take a minute to apologize to the membership for being MIA around the SWU message board. My wife has been in the ICU at Duke University Hospital for the last three weeks and between work and hospital visits, there has been little time for anything else.
With any luck she will be home soon and I can pick myself up, dust myself off, and get back into the game.
Thanks for your understanding and patience and always,
Keep Writing!

The wife made it out of the ICU on Thursday of last week, but suffered a set back and was placed back into the ICU yesterday, After two minor procedures, she seems to be improving and with any luck, I will be able to bust her out of there very soon.
Thanks for your patience and always,

Just wanted to let the membership know I have not forgotten you or abandoned ship. My wife is still in hospital (57 days and counting ) but doing much , much better . With any luck she should be home in two or three weeks. I appreciate all of your well wishes and patience while I have been MIA and promise to inject some life into this place when things settle down for us. Thanks again and always, Keep Writing!

Dear Members,
Over two months ago I wrote the following:
Well, my wife is still in the hospital (106 days). She makes some progress, has a setback (nothing you would call critical) that puts her back a week or two on her road to recovery and struggles back to gain some ground. It is the proverbial, two steps forward, one step back.
That said, I just wanted to let you know I have not yet given up on Shmucks With Underwoods and have been attempting to grow the membership by Tweeting about our board. I think this has resulted in three new members, less than I hoped, but better than nothing.
Thanks to everyone for their prayers and well wishes and let's make SWU the premier board for up and coming screenwriters!
Keep Writing!

Mike, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure she will be out of there in no time. Stay strong my friend.

We're all here with our collective <hug>, Mikey ; ) Fingers and toes crossed, appropriate nudges of positive expectations to our Gods. The whole nine, buddy.
I'll admit, though, that I've enjoyed my MIA. As any sucker would, I submitted to Scott's Quest and look forward to finding out--either way--because for me, at least, there's nothing like the start of a new project. If I'm chosen, diving right in. If not, still diving in and 'playing along' with the winners.
Hope plenty of you are choosing the same because we have our built-in response team, as it were. I know they're all looking for a board and arguing about protection----blah, blah, blah ; ) I'm looking forward to the responses from my peeps right here. Of course I'm not one for reading shorts or partials or to even submit partials but we'll see how it all works out.
