Curious to know what your take was on Lee winning for Director while Argo got shut out? I have not watched either film, but there was a lot of heated press about Argo getting snubbed. There has to be a reason why it got snubbed. I would assume that they send the ballots out and the people that vote on them have actually watched it?
Just trying to understand it all.
Also, looking at Lee's background - it's was kind of a gamble for them to give him the directorial nod when his last film - Taking Woodstock didn't fare to well.

Don’t believe Argo was snubbed, after all, it did win Best Picture. For some odd reason Hollyweird snubbed Ben Affleck.
Keep Writing.

I'm glad "Argo." I thought it was the best picture. Ben Affleck should've been nominated, but who knows what kind of games the academy is playing? "The Town" was also really well done. Haven't seen "Gone Baby Gone," which is supposed to be good, too.

Maybe the academy just figured that it was best picture and pretty much that sums it up for Affleck. He produced, directed and starred in the picture. Idk - just seemed odd, but what do I know.
