So, I'm just curious. Which does everyone use?
I chose Hulu for the Criterion collection. Once Netflix lost them, it was a pretty easy decision for me. I like to know I can watch over-the-top Serbo-Canadian art films that I can never unwatch, like "Sweet Movie", anytime I want. THAT's freedom. Also, my wife likes TV shows.
We also have Amazon, mostly for the shipping, but we use it to watch Next Generation and Fraggle Rock (for the little guy). Their free movie selection is pretty weak, but we've paid for VOD through them a couple of times.
I miss Netflix sometimes, but I think they have the weakest chance for success right now, especially if Amazon releases a dedicated subscription service, like they have hinted.
What do you think?

Clay, I think that I'm just about done with Netflix. They have lost a lot of movies and will lose a lot more in the coming months. They need to change it or they're going to sink. It all comes down to who's paying the studios and netflix isn't coughing up enough dough. Mark

I agree -- sayonara Netflix!
It seems like 90% of the movies I wanted to see on demand when I subscribed to Netflix were never available – you had to order a DVD. Blaaaah!
I’ve never tried Hulu, but will look into their services when I get home tonight.
What I like about streaming movies is this: if I’m writing a genre script, say a noir piece, I sometimes want to see movies in that genre for the feel, the style, and mostly for inspiration.
Can’t do that if you have to wait around for a DVD to be delivered.
Sayonara Netflix!

Well, I did some research this weekend on HuluPlus and could not find anything on there that was a huge difference than NetFlix. I also looked at Amazon and Blockbuster, but both work a little differently. It seems that with Blockbuster and Amazon you rent each movie and not a bulk service like Netflix. I wish there was a service that was bulk like NetFlix, but has current movies. Maybe someday.

Mark,
As far as I can tell, Netflix still has the best selection of streaming movies, but they're hemorrhaging them quickly. Hulu's selection still isn't great, but it's growing, especially in TV, and the Criterion Collection is worth the 8 bucks, easy. Biggest flaw with Hulu is their interface, which is terrible. Amazon DOES have a bulk service, connected with their Prime membership, it's just kind of pitiful at this point. Their included movies and shows are pretty random and there aren't very many of them.
Hope that helps, Clay
