Moonrise Kingdom. It was magical, compelling and unpredictable.
What's the most recent movie you saw that made you say, "Yes, that's why I'm doing what I'm doing. That's why I'm spending uncounted hours, pounding away at a keyboard, trying to conjure up the magic from somewhere deep inside myself."
So, what sez you out there in the internets...

Eager to see this.. I love everything Wes Anderson, and I hope this jumps to the top of his movie greats. I already have a tie for first with Royal Tenenbaums and Life Aquatic. Hope for the tie x3!!
and movie i just saw and liked....
Cabin in the Woods Well Joss Whedon can do no wrong, so obviously it's great. But the whole premise and dynamic was so original that it felt like "new" entertainment. The comedy with horror was done cleverly. So if you like sci-fi horror, i highly recommend..

For me it has to be Sky Fall.... although I have not yet seen Lincoln (probably a much better flic). And, I almost feel like I am blaspheming here , I think Daniel Craig is THE best Bond yet (sorry Sean). One man's opinion -- mileage may vary -- batteries not included. Keep Writing!

Seen lots of excellent movies this fall...
*Lincoln -- Powerful... and funny in places. Lots of polysyllabic name-calling in Congress (I guess not much has changed). James Spader provides a lot of comic relief as a go-fer/patronage wheeler-dealer, trying to round up enough votes to pass the 13th Amendment.
*Argo -- I was on the edge of my seat for almost the whole movie. Intense.
*Pitch Perfect -- a funny sweet rom-com/college satire that plays like a combination of "Glee" and "Dodgeball"
"Cloud Atlas" -- Six movies for the price of one. Correction: Six good movies.
